Since her first position out of college in 1986, Murray has worked in various aspects of marketing for historic properties, festivals, attractions, and various nonprofit organizations and businesses.

Upon moving to Asheville, North Carolina in 1993, Murray began a seven-year tenure in the marketing department of Biltmore Estate, until she left her position of Creative Services manager in 2000 to start her own business. Carolina Creative Services is a boutique graphic design and writing firm in Black Mountain, serving clients across a wide range of fields including retail, architecture, retirement, historic attractions and museums, real estate, galleries, and retreat centers.

Murray’s specialty areas include graphic design and writing for ads, logos, web sites, outdoor, brochures, newsletters, signs/wayfinding, books and travel guides, direct mail, and food and wine packaging. Recent projects include the Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce visitor guide, and branding materials for the Historic Homes of Roswell, Georgia.
